The Lotus Eaters

Hello again everyone, Odysseus is back. During my ten years of war in Troy I faced many obstacles. For example, my men were almost completely massacred, we sat and waited in a cramped horse for hours just waiting for a moment in order to launch a surprise attack to ensure the death of our enemies. Even though these conflicts were unwanted, we pushed through and won. My men and I boarded the ship and made our way back to Ithaca. Due to a horrible sea storm, we washed up to a mysterious island.

First of all, we weren't aiming to end up on this gods-forsaken island. Furthermore, let me explain the troubles we faced on this minor setback. It all started with the dreadful storm. Cracks of bone-shattering lightning, belly-throwing rumbles of thunder and violently shifting waves all through the night kept the crew and I on our feet. My ship's sails cracked and flung about the deck. Many men were lost that night.

That next dawn, I commanded that our masts were put up and we set course for an easy rest of our voyage. After awhile, we found ourselves on the shore of a unknown island. I sent three of my men to go find the race of the inhabitants. After we had waited for them to return for quite sometime without them showing up, the rest of the men and I set out to look for them. Turns out they had a sort of spell cast on them by eating a special flower, the Lotus. The rest of the people living on the island were also spellbound and therefore slaves under the unholy Lotus. I ripped my three men from the group and forced them back onto the ship and we sailed away from the wretched isle.

Till we meet again,
Odysseus
