Sailing from Troy
Hello my fellow Ithacans! Odysseus here, and I have been fairly busy lately. Right now, I'm meeting with Alcinous, ruler of Phaeacia, to ask for a ship so I can get home to Ithaca. I've been all over, including Troy during the Trojan War, and even all the way to Ismarus. My travels haven't been easy either.
The only one who is with me now is Alcinous, who is making me tell him of my adventures for a ship. But from the start of my journey, I had many men, and now there are none. Whether they were killed by Zeus's wrath, or by many of the strange beings I encountered, none of them really deserved to die. Along the way, I met many creatures and people such as a Cyclops named Polyphemus and an enchantress named Circe, who "helped" me in my time of need... My wife Penelope is home, hopefully being more faithful than I.
Right about now, I'm feeling anxious to get home. I mean, all this time, all I've been doing is fighting! It gets a little tiring after a while. I'm also feeling quite homesick. Being away from home for all this time is definitely taking effect on me, so I should wrap things up here and get back to my story.
